Application to place a vulnerable adult under legal protection

 A person is unable to look after his or her own interests by reason of an impairment of mental and/or physical faculties, an protection measure can be put in place (safeguard of justice, guardianship, guardianship, family empowerment).

How do you go about it?

Send the application, the expert report and the documents to be supplied to the court of the habitual residence of the person to be protected.

Documents to be supplied

• Notice - Application for legal protection of a person of full age (family habilitation or judicial protection) - Cerfa N° 52257#04 (available from the CCAS)
• Application for legal protection of a person of full age (family habilitation or judicial protection) - Cerfa N° 15891*03 (available from the CCAS)
• If the request is made by the family, a close friend or the person themselves, medical expertiseThis must be drawn up by a doctor approved by the public prosecutor and attached to a detailed letter sent to the guardianship judge. 
  You can obtain the list of doctors drawn up by the public prosecutor from the clerk's office of the judicial court or the clerk's office of the local court.
