Citizen census

If you are French, you must take your civic census from the age of 16 and within the following 3 months. You have until the end of the 3ᵉ month to do so. If you have not taken your civic census within this period, you can regularise your situation up to the age of 25. The procedure remains the same.

How do you register?

On site:

You must present yourself in person at your local town hall (alone or accompanied by one of your parents) Minors may also be represented by one of their parents.

Documents to be provided :

(original + photocopies)

  • Proof of address less than 3 months old in the name of one of the 2 parents
  • The young person's identity document 
  • The family record book or, failing that, a full copy of the young person's birth certificate
