Rat extermination campaign in Montataire

To combat rodent infestations effectively, the City is deploying two measures pest control campaigns annual mandatory under permanent order of the Mayor. From 2026 onwards, they will take place every year: one between 15 April and 5 May, and the second between 15 October and 5 November.

Who is affected?

They concern :

• legal entities that own, are entitled to or manage built and unbuilt land (in particular social landlords, co-ownerships, property managers, heads of public and private establishments).
• wastewater and stormwater network managers,
• holders of heating and heating network operation contracts,
• as well as all the shops.

This does not apply to individuals who are owner-occupiers of their primary or secondary residence.

What do we need to do?

The persons concerned are required to check the condition of ventilation or drainage grilles, and to block all non-functional openings used by rodents to gain access to buildings or sewers.

Each year, a deratting certificate must be provided to the Town Hall within one month of the treatment period.
