Heatwave plan

A heatwave is sweeping across France and the Oise region. The town has a number of ways of coping with the heat.

Retired contacts

For retired people, the Maurice Mignon independent residence has a refreshment room. It's also an opportunity to spend time in good company, with access to games and a TV!

The heatwave plan includes a contact file that allows staff at the Residence to telephone elderly and isolated people to make sure they are in good health.

This file is particularly valuable today, as it was used during the confinement. Montatairien requiring these services, or families who think it would be useful for their loved ones, can contact serviceThey will be contacted in the event of a new health crisis or heatwave.

Nature

To enjoy the great outdoors while avoiding the heat, head for the municipal woods near the Fonds de Montataire district, Priory Park and its pond, and also the banks of the Thérain. Please note that swimming is prohibited. And watch out for cigarette butts too, as the risk of fire is high due to the drought.

Swimming pool

To cool off safely, head to the municipal swimming pool (37 Avenue Anatole France,Montataire -03 44 27 46 03).

Saint-Leu base

For another swimming option, this time in the open air (with pedalos, picnics, canoeing and kayaking), go to Saint-Leu-d'Esserent leisure centre (19 rue de la Garenne, Saint-Leu-d'Esserent - 03 44 56 77 88).

Toddlers

When temperatures rise, children should stay indoors, or in the shade.

For toddlers, we recommend :

  • ventilate the home and the car,
  • Bathe the child or wet him with a washcloth; avoid wearing wet clothes, which can cause thermal shock,
  • breastfeed more regularly,
  • dress them indoors in bodysuits or nappies if the temperature exceeds 27°.
