Eco-pasturing: new residents in the Martinets district
Since mid-April, the coulée verte has been home to a new breed of sheep. Until next October, The three ewes live in a special enclosure where they naturally tend the lawn. Residents are free to come and visit them, but don't be surprised by their small size - they are adults and belong to the smallest species of sheep.

What can we feed the sheep?
It's important to stress that ewes are fed, and it's vital not to give them bread or wheat-based feed, as these swell up in their stomachs and can lead to serious complications. Offer them fruit, vegetables or peelings instead.

Thanks to the association Le Pré des cités
This initiative has been made possible thanks to the participation of the Le Pré des cités association, which helps to create social links through eco-pastures. This initiative is part of the local authority's policy to improve the quality of life through living green spaces that are maintained in an eco-responsible way and encourage interaction and encounters.

In addition, events are planned to promote this new space on the following dates:
- Wednesday 13 May at 2pm, for a workshop on making goat's cheese,
- Wednesday 27 May at 2pm, for a workshop on animal footprints.
We need your help!
For this project to run smoothly, you need to have referents whose role is to act as a link between the neighbourhood and the association in charge of the animals.
These volunteers will be able to contact and be contacted by Pré des cités to ensure the well-being of the ewes.
If you would like to become one of these referrers, contact the Urban Policy Department or Le Pré des cités at 06 44 96 52 38. This number is also the emergency number to contact if you notice a problem with the eco-pasture animals.
