Can't make it to the polls?
For people who are elderly, have reduced mobility or have difficulties getting around, the City of Paris is providing transport to the polls on Sunday 15 March.
All you have to do is register at the Résidence Maurice Mignon until March 14, or call the main town hall on 03 44 64 44 44 on the day.
Alternatively, you can use a power of attorney.
Power of attorney
As a reminder, if you are unable to attend on polling day, you can give a proxy. The person of your choice must be a voter. You need their electoral number (shown on their electoral card) and their civil status (surname, first name, date and place of birth).
Then go to maprocuration.gouv.fr to submit your request or download the form.
You will need to go to the police station, gendarmerie or magistrates' court where you live or work, or to the consulate for voters living abroad, with the completed form to have the proxy validated. The officials who receive you are authorised to confirm your identity. People who hold the new European format identity cards and have had their digital identity certified by France Identité do not have to make this trip. You will then be informed of the validation of your proxy either on your personal space if it was made online, or by the agent who received you.
Please note that only the Town Hall can inform you that the proxy is invalid in several cases: several proxies given to the same elector (only one proxy per person), or a proxy given to an elector removed from the electoral roll, for example. Check beforehand that the person you have chosen is a voter. If you are the holder of another person's proxy, remember that you will have to vote in that person's polling station, not your own.
Administrative documents
When you go to the polling station, bring a piece of identification with you. The electoral card is not compulsory, but strongly recommended. If you lose your electoral card, you will be given a certificate at the entrance to the polling station, which you should keep in a safe place. At the polling station, you will be given an envelope and you will need to take at least two ballot papers, or none if you are using the ones you received at home with the propaganda, before going to the polling booth. Make sure you enter the polling booth alone and close it behind you to protect the confidentiality of your vote. Once you have placed your ballot paper in the envelope, go to the ballot box where your identity will be confirmed.
A vote!
You will need to insert your own ballot paper and sign the voters' list.
