World Music and Dance Festival

Le Ascension Thursday, 29 MayMontataire vibrates to the rhythm of world cultures! From 8am to 10pmThe city centre and the Marcel Coene stadium will be transformed into a veritable crossroads of tradition and celebration!

The Parade

A time for sharing, rhythms and cultures from all over the world! Come and celebrate diversity, music and joie de vivre in Montataire!

Departure at 11 a.m. from the Martinets shopping centre - be there!

The groups :

• Red Light - flag bearers, xylophones, snare drum, tototum, drum, bass drum
• Bandas - brass instruments, percussion, drums
• Miyo - Caribbean ambience with percussion and song
• Lezard Tape - fiery batucada
• Les Tambours du Burundi - energy from Africa
• Du Tabenka - traditional music from Cape Verde
• Bombos do Castel - traditional music from northern Portugal
• A group of residents from the Creillois area (Centre social de Villers-Saint-Paul, Centre social de Creil, Maison des parents de Creil, les familles des compagnons du marais and the association Vacances et familles)

The flea market and second-hand goods

From early in the morning, wander around Montataire town centre looking for bargains. You're sure to find a treasure trove!

The flea market

The flea market is organised by the association Montataire Basket-Ball. It covers the Place de la Mairie, Rue de la République and Parc Marcel Cachin.

Registration takes place on Fridays 2, 9, 16 and 23 May, from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Marcel Coene sports hall, avenue Guy Môquet.

Please note: no pitches can be reserved on the day!

• Outside 5 per linear metre

The village of associations

Visit the village of associations at Marcel Coene stadium from 11.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m..

When it closes, you'll have to move to the stands to watch the Hip-Hop Festival, which starts at 7pm..

Catering

You can eat in. Stalls will be set up by associations to sell snacks.

Representations

You can attend three performances between 2pm and 5pm on a small stage in the heart of the village.

The Hip-Hop Festival

Appointments Thursday 29 May (Ascension Thursday) from 7pm at the Marcel Coene stadium for an exceptional evening that will close the Festival Danses et Musiques du Monde with a major hip-hop festival !

Access will be via Entrance B from 5.30pm.. Entrance A will be closed.

The headliner

FRENCH WINGZ - A company straight from the Paris region with a show an interactive mix of stand-up comedy and hip-hop dance ! An original, dynamic and breathtaking show featuring four dancers on stage !

The band will close the festival.

Practical information

Traffic

Traffic will be disrupted during the parade (see the parade route at the top of the page).

Rue de la République (from the Mairie to Parc Marcel Cachin) and Place Auguste Génie will be closed to traffic.

Parking

The town of Montataire provides several car parks (Ambroise Croizat, Palace) where you can park. All city car parks are free of charge.
