Swimming across the Oise

La 51st Oise River Swim – “Christmas Cup” will be held on Saturday, 20 December 2025 at 5 p.m., at Carnot Square in Creil. Organised by the Creil branch of the Rescuers of the Oise, This iconic event will bring together around thirty swimmers ready to brave the cold waters to connect the two banks in the heart of the city.

The evening will conclude with a fireworks shot above the river.

Before the event, participants will take part in a cold water test the Sunday, 14 December at the Étoile Nautique de l'Oise to validate their aptitude and guarantee a safe crossing.

Revived in the 1980s, the Christmas Cup has become a real highlight of winter in Créil. It showcases the expertise of the Sauveteurs de l'Oise, an association founded in 1867 and recognised for its commitment to prevention, first aid training and lifesaving swimming. Each edition showcases the preparation, rigour and spirit of solidarity required to intervene in aquatic environments, even in winter conditions.
