End of year festivities
The town organises events and social activities to celebrate the festivities. Sport, entertainment, moments of sharing and conviviality are on the agenda for December. To complete the festive atmosphere, Montataire will be decked out in Christmas lights from 8 December to 12 January.
Saturday, 20 December
From 1:15 p.m. – Town Hall Square
The Christmas strides challenge experienced athletes and beginners who are not afraid of the cold with two races.
The first one will leave at 1:15 pm and will stretch over 1.5 km for runners of 6 to 12 years old.
The second, reserved for 12 years and older, will set off at 1:30 p.m. for one
3km route.
The Registration is open on Sunday, 14 December at the market and on the morning of the event until 1 p.m.. Remember to wear your best ugly Christmas jumper and come and run in a friendly atmosphere filled with passion for sport!
From 2pm to 6pm – Town Hall Square
A genuine Christmas village will be set up around the town hall with entertainment and games for children and adults. On the programme:
Giant toboggan, merry-go-round, carriage rides, creative workshops and sweets. A show and concert by AMEM. will give this village a festive atmosphere, and Father Christmas will be there to take photos with children who have been good this year.
Tuesday, 23 December
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Marcel Coene Complex
The “Sportif et Citoyen” event is back for its third edition.e edition. Various disciplines are featured: climbing, boxing, weight training, basketball, pickleball, curling, bowling, Picardy games and sports quizzes.
The day is open to 12–17 years old and the most determined athletes will receive a price.
Thursday 25th and Friday 26th December
Esplanade Fernand Tuil
Sliding and pirouettes are on the agenda with the ice rink on offer.

From Friday 19 December at 10 p.m. to Saturday 20 December at 8 p.m., traffic and parking will be prohibited on the town hall square.
