Combating violence against women
Defining violence to combat it more effectively, provide information and support
The sexist and sexual violence faced by women regularly makes the headlines in the written press and on television: the sad list of feminicides, which could perhaps have been avoided, is growing, as is the case of the rapes in Mazan, which highlighted the repeated horrors suffered by Madame Gisèle Pelicot, who has become a symbol for all generations in the fight against violence against women.
Violence affects all women, whether they are young, very young or older, and from all social classes: no one is spared.
We might think that it doesn't concern us at all and we look at things from a distance, mistakenly thinking that it only happens to others, but have you ever wondered whether someone around you has been subjected to sexist insults, the actions of a frotteur in public transport, a reflection on the length of her skirt or the size of her breasts in the street, at work or at school?
Violence is not always visible and victims do not always come forward out of shame or fear of reprisals, or both.
