Musical reading as part of the Book Festival
Musical reading of «La femme brouillon« with writer Amandine Dhée and cellist Timothée Couteau.
Writer and feminist, Amandine Dhée sheds political light on an intimate experience: motherhood. She talks about the new identity she has to come to terms with, with no real family model. Pregnant and then a young mother, the author recounts the norms that people try to impose on her every day, and her struggle to preserve her emancipation: her political awakening and her creativity. She sees motherhood as revealing a dominant and institutionalised discourse. She questions the perception of her own body, her sexuality, the distribution of roles within the family, transmission and her own contradictions... In La femme brouillon, Amandine Dhée claims a form of freedom, the freedom not to be a perfect mother: La mère parfaite is one of the Great Useless Projects that must be denounced.
Timothée Couteau Timothée, armed with his cello, accompanies Amandine's voice, digressing and creating the soundscape of La femme brouillon. As accomplices, Amandine and Timothée arrange to meet and improvise. They invite the audience to create their own images, and to walk through the text with them.
