Two estranged half-brothers travel to Martinique to find their dying father. With his last breath, he tells them that his most precious possession is the authentic document that freed their ancestors from slavery. Disappointed by what they saw as a meagre inheritance, the two brothers tore up the precious document in a rage. This sacrilege catapulted them back into the 19th century.^e century, at the height of slavery.
