Can't be there to vote? Then consider using a proxy.
Can't make it, reduced mobility? You can vote by proxy in the municipal elections on 15 and 22 March 2026. You can give it at any time, right up to the day before polling day.
Please note that on the day of the vote, the elector appointed to vote in your place can only have one proxy issued in France.
How do I appoint a proxy?
On site:
Present yourself in person with a proof of identity at one of the following locations:
- Police station (wherever that may be)
- Gendarmerie (wherever that may be)
- Court (your home or place of work)
- Place open to the public (defined by the Prefect)
If your state of health or a serious disability prevents you from travelling, you can ask the police to come to your home to draw up the power of attorney.
You will need to complete a form provided on site or at download. Attentionyou must indicate :
- Your national electoral number and that of the elector responsible for voting on your behalf. You can find this number on your electoral card.
- The surname, first name and date of birth of the elector appointed to vote on your behalf.
You will be given a receipt.
On line :
Use the teleservice Maprocuration by logging on to France Connect. Attentionyou will need to provide the following details of the elector responsible for voting on your behalf (your name, address, telephone number, etc.) representative) :
- Your date of birth and your electoral number. You can find this number on your electoral card.
- That is, their date of birth, first names, surname and the commune where they vote.
The power of attorney must then be validated at one of the following locations:
- Place open to the public (defined by the Prefect)
- Police station (wherever that may be)
- Gendarmerie (wherever that may be)
- Court (your home or place of work)
A proxy can be drawn up at any time up to the day before the vote, but the proxy may not be able to vote if the commune does not receive it in time.
