For the 2020-2026 term of the organisation, it is committed to 5 key areas: the well-being of children, the fight against discrimination, education, the participation of children and young people, and partnership with UNICEF. This award reflects the political commitment to improving the application of children's rights in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The beginnings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This recognition began with a deliberation by the city council in December 2020. Unicef's positive response came less than a year later, in October 2021. \" <em>Even though this was its first bid, the city was ready<\/em> \"confides Unicef representative Marc Douez, touched by \" <em>kindness and sincerity<\/em> You'll also find a \"Welcome\" section at the town's reception desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Not a label but a state of mind<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The city's commitment will be assessed at the end of the current term of office. \"It's recognition, but first and foremost it's a responsibility\", admits Jean-Pierre Bosino. As for Marc Douez, he likes to say that it's not a label but a state of mind to be shared with all the departments working with children, with associations, with schools, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-c4d2a56a alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-blockquote uagb-block-c0c3727c uagb-blockquote__skin-border uagb-blockquote__stack-img-none\"><blockquote class=\"uagb-blockquote\"><div class=\"uagb-blockquote__content\">\"There are still children suffering in the world. I'm thinking of the children in the Dheisheh camp in Palestine; I'm thinking of the victims of war, like today in Ukraine; I'm thinking of the little girls in Afghanistan, who can't go to
