Living environment: renovation and embellishment
The town of Montataire covers an area of 11 km² and has a population of almost 14,500, which is all the more reason to maintain its streets and infrastructure. Improving the living environment and ensuring the comfort and accessibility of the town's neighbourhoods requires a number of works of varying scale.

Rue Duclos
During the summer of 2025, many sections of road were resurfaced, as the deterioration of the pavement was making driving dangerous. The streets
The streets concerned are rue Guillaume Calle, rue Louis Blanc, rue Jacques Duclos at its intersection with rue Henri Barbusse and rue Armand Desnosse, and rue Jacques Decour. The retaining walls of rue de l'Église have also been reinforced, and the area around the wood in rue Jules Vallès has been made safer.

Rue de l'Église
Work is also underway at the cité Biondi car park to improve the living environment for residents. The work is scheduled for completion in March and will include :
- Drainage surfacing on parking spaces to prevent rainwater from stagnating.
- The planting of 14 trees to replace the old ones that were diseased.
- More planters at the foot of buildings.
Half of the car park will be closed for the duration of the works to minimise inconvenience to local residents.

Rue André Ginisti
Work is also underway on the rue Ginisti, in particular to improve access for the disabled and to make the area greener and more pleasant to live in:
- The bus platform will be raised so that the access ramp can be deployed for users with reduced mobility. ACSO is providing half the funding for this project.
- A podotactile guide line will be created.
- Existing trees will be cleared of concrete and surrounded by green spaces.
- The footpaths will be redefined.
Finally, the rue Lesiour car park is also being refurbished, with a drainage surface and more greenery.

Esplanade Fernand Tuil
Since 2021, an Urban Renewal Project (Projet de Renouvellement Urbain - PRU) has been underway in the Martinets district. This long-term project consists of a series of redevelopments and works around the Fernand Tuil esplanade to make it a friendly and pleasant place to live. The local population has been consulted in a series of consultations to incorporate their requests into the works.
- The esplanade itself has been completely redesigned to make it a more accessible, greener and more open meeting place. With large trees, lawns and lighter-coloured paving, the esplanade is set to become a real island of coolness for the summers to come.
- The wall below the esplanade will be converted into a climbing wall for children, complete with slide, and new bleachers will provide a place for walkers to relax.
- A green walkway has been built, enabling residents to move around the neighbourhood away from the roads, in the shade of the greenery.
- A city-stadium has been installed with modern equipment and play areas with shock-absorbing floors for the safety of younger children.
- The car parks on rue Jacques Decour and rue des Martinets have been rebuilt to simplify parking in the area.
- The forecourt of the Jacques Decour school has been refurbished to make it safer and more accessible, with a gentle slope for people with reduced mobility.

Martinets district

For the rest of the project, other works in the district are planned for 2026 and the years to come:
- Behind the impasse des Martinets, a new area with a petanque pitch and bleachers will be created for sharing convivial moments.
- The hill between the Fernand Tuil esplanade and Avenue Gabriel Péri will be given a play area where local children can enjoy themselves in complete safety.
- The stairs leading from the Jacques Decour school to Avenue Gabriel Péri will be renovated to make traffic safer and more comfortable.
- The avenue will also be linked to the city-stadium by a planted walkway designed for people with reduced mobility and pushchairs.
- The forecourt of the Anatole France secondary school is to be completely redone, with benches, a pedestrian walkway and a crossing platform. This will give pupils safer access to the school entrance.
Work on the allée des Marronniers: Information point
Work on the allée des Marronniers is continuing. This project is particularly complex, due to the presence of partially collapsed walls and the constraints of
techniques.
This work is essential to ensure the safety of local residents and homes, but also to allow a gradual return to vehicle traffic, at least on half carriageways, at the latest by the end of the year. during the first quarter of 2026.
