Substandard housing
The town of Montataire has made the fight against substandard and unfit housing a priority. It has set up a unit to combat substandard housing, the aim of which is to support tenants who are victims, as well as landlords who are concerned about their rental property.
Around fifty inspections and counter-inspections are carried out each year, with the aim of ensuring that homes comply with regulations. In the most serious cases, occupancy bans are imposed and landlords are required to rehouse their tenants and carry out remedial work.
